Hopespare Expansion

Hopespare Ltd. a company whose head office is based in Hemel Hempstead, announced today that it has acquired and now owns the company known as South Eastern Hydraulics Ltd effective 5th May 2015.

The acquisition of SEH Ltd. into the Hopespare Family Group will enable both companies to continue to provide their customers with innovative, seamless services. This will combine the hydraulic hose and connectivity expertise provided already in house with further technical knowledge of hydraulic systems and power packs complimenting that which already exists within the group.

Hopespare Ltd. was established in 1986 and has been trading for over 25 years as a Certified Parker Hannifin Distributor. We specialise in the stock management of hydraulic and pneumatic hose and connectors for OEMs while also providing a complete service for the repair, replacement or preventative maintenance of hydraulic and pneumatic systems. With 6 branches, including the UK's first ParkerStore and fleet of Hose Doctor mobile workshops, they are able to supply what our customers want, when they want it.

South Eastern Hydraulics originally established in Redhill in 1973 has developed in to its current standing as one of the leading hydraulic engineering companies in the country. They offer a full range of services and skills to cover the full scope of the design, manufacture, refurbishment and installation of hydraulic systems, hydraulic power units and hydraulic cylinders. Also, as an official Parker Hannifin hydraulic distributor they can supply hydraulic components, hydraulic spares and assemblies made to order.

Group Managing Director Peter Willson said: “With our combined force, we can continue to offer our experience, expertise and knowledge from design through supply to after sales support of all our customers’ needs through a wide range of cost effective, practical and reliable applications including but not limited to industrial, marine, mobile, aerospace and film industries.  While remaining a relatively small privately owned company, I feel this acquisition will further enable and strengthen our standing in the market while continuing to be flexible in our response to all our customers’ individual requirements offering a complete solution.”

Former Managing Director of South Eastern Hydraulics Chris Blevins said “I am pleased to announce our acquisition by Hopespare Limited. The combination of their experience within the hydraulics industry and South Eastern Hydraulics comprehensive service offering strengthens our potential market opportunities and our combined abilities to address and provide a complete service to all our core end-markets. We are thrilled that Hopespare Limited has taken us into their fold and look forward to serving our customers and growing together”

As part of an initial investment into South Eastern Hydraulics we are looking to expand the hydraulic systems scope of work by recruiting a new project engineer. Press release from Parker Hannifin

Parker Hannifin, the global leader in motion and control technologies, in partnership with distributor Hopespare Limited, opened the first London ParkerStore last week – creating the first self-serve supermarket for hydraulics and pneumatics products in the capital.

The new store, run by Hopespare at Woodall Road, Enfield feels more like a traditional DIY shop than a trade counter. Products are organised into categories and part numbers, which means customers can browse at leisure for items such as air brake parts, couplers and filters.

There’s an in-store ‘while-you-wait’ hose assembly service, so people can take a seat, enjoy a drink and watch their product being made. All store staff have received the British Fluid Power Association’s skills training programme, and are qualified to assemble a hose correctly and safely.

Commenting on the launch, store manager Richard Durrant said: “We’ve moved away from the traditional trade counter format to a much more relaxed shopping experience, complete with customer seating and refreshments.

“People can pop in, browse around and handle product without any commitment to purchase. They decide what they want for themselves and just tell us if they want to buy something or need help solving technical problems.

“Our team has loads of experience in hydraulics and pneumatics and we’re used to handling all sorts of queries - from very technical industry problems, to diagnosing what’s needed from a picture on a customer’s mobile!”

“As an official Parker store, we also sell genuine parts and fittings that are guaranteed to match. So it’s much easier then ever to buy hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and motion control products in north London.”

The new format store is already proving a hit with customers. Ben Bradford of Glendining Highways said: “We buy all sorts of hydraulic parts and air tools and with old trade counters, you can’t see anything. This shop is much better. Instead of relying on a book, you have loads of products on view and advice to help you get the right parts, first time round.”

Rob Mead of BIZ Karts added: “It’s really well organized. Everything’s clean and modern, and the products are nicely displayed.  They’ve made hoses and fittings for us and the staff were great to deal with, we wouldn’t go anywhere else now.”

The store opening hours are 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday and 9.00am to 12.00noon on Saturday. Customers can also call the technical helpline on 0208 804 9001.
